This after noon I received a chat message via Facebook from Yvette Rodriguez-Diaz who is abroad asking if the post she received is accurate that Ma'm Flor Tica her former HS Teacher has passed away. I promised to verify and called S.I.C and talked with Ms. Lanie Ninonuevo, who confirmed that Ms. Flor Tica joined the Lord yesterday, November 22, 2009 and her remains lie at the St. Peter's Memorial Chapel along MH del Pilar St. in Tanay, Rizal. Schedule of her interment is not yet set and will be posted later.
WE PRAY FOR HER PEACEFUL REUNION WITH THE CREATOR AND OFFER OUR SINCEREST CONDOLENCES TO HER FAMILY AND LOVED ONES.

Igan Beng,
Maraming salamat to your heart-rending eulogy for one of our best friends. Thanks also for bringing back the memories of those photos -- and our friendship.
Indeed, even after all these years, I have not found any other friends who was as close, as fun and as playfull as the one we have had. The times that we had was one in a million.
John was the most protective and clannish of us all. He is always ready na makipagbasagan ng mukha to anyone who'll treat us badly. And I think twice he had done that.
I really miss John -- and Enchong. I believe they'll meet each other in heaven where they'll resume the friendship and katuwaan.
Well, your write up is very touching. I remember in times like this, to help us cope with sadness or hide our inner feelings, we always jokingly say: "Issss, igan ako namay pinapaiyak mo." Actually, I've picked up the phone multiple times in the last two evenings for an attempt to call you and Alex. I hesitated and doubled-back at baka talaga tayoy magkaiyakan. And yet, even without talking to each other, I sure know the sadness that you and Alex feel.
John with his mirth, sense of humor, sometimes corny jokes, funny mannerism and pa-macho will be sorely missed.
May he rest in Peace in God's kingdom.

REMEMBERING JOHN SAMONTE is satisfying, uplifting, and cheering, knowing how we enjoyed the company of one another from high school where we understood the academics as complicated as we absorbed it, leaving the classes focused on more exciting and enjoyable things than doing homework that we did not know if we had it or not. If we had it, could we understand it? We graduated. It meant to me we learned better our way, maybe more effective than the conventional.
When school was out of the picture, breathing for relief got better for us when we both started making well-earned money, spending for ourselves and share it also to our family and friends. John always went straight to our home from his work still in his nice uniforms: John Samonte, Supervisor. Our conversation was endless from girls, work, politics, business, adventures, and sex too to everything! Of course, we always went out with friends to nice and lovely places, lots of it. And, yes, John also worked in Iraq, doubling his muscles—fearless of all the dangers.
John had a lot of friends, who admired and loved his company, because he was likeable, witty, humorous, smart and intelligent. There was always laughter with John, because John was a performer of all sorts: He could sing, dance, act, and deliver a good speech. He liked martial arts and could be an excellent commando, a military officer or a special agent. His grit amazed me!
John loves his family more than ever. I’m so honored to be the godfather of his youngest son, Zeus, and other children. My family and I wholeheartedly express our sympathy to Vangie, John’s lovely and admirable wife, their families and relatives.
I’d like to share with you the attached pictures, where I’d love to remember John in his healthy skin and flesh with sound mind and spirited personality. John and I called each other PINSAN. So, “Pinsan John: We’ll all get there where you are now. Just wait and we’ll continue the journey. Omnipotent and loving God takes care of you now in his paradise.

Classmates,
Babbie, I was able to communicate with Lily doon sa burol ni John. I saw where he lies in state and spoke with his niece together with Lily. While talikg to them, I was able to talk to Beng and Leah Melendres, Rudy Penalver and Narciso Piguing. Rudy will send his contributions thru his daughter and will hand it to Lily. Nars and Beng will mail me their checks and I will send all our contributions to Lily via western union.
Actually, I learned of this news thru Eddie S. He called me as soon as I arrived home from work. He infomed me that Josie Penalver emailed us that John died this morning. Thank you Pining sa immediate action mo.

We pray for the repose of his soul and may he rest in peace.
Kung sino man sa ating magkakasama ang naga-asikaso ng pantulong sa mga kaanak ni John ay let us know what we can do in our absence in Tanay.
Babbie mentioned something about some left over monies we had after our last reunion, are we acclocating some to help with the funeral expenses? Please let us know.

classmates,
tony and i drove to tanay this morning nov 22 for john's funeral.
we were joined by lily going to john's house, mama tagging along because she said that john was also her relative by the melendres side.
in the church were sandra, cording, nora r, auring, hermie, evelyn ,flor mateo, democ.
do you remember juanita quiogue , ricardo deguzman, arsenia francisco and narcisa san juan who were our classmates too for sometime but not part of the 6768 graduates ?
they were there too. narcing was emcee for the short tribute given to john. our class was asked to give a speech tribute .it was hurried and we were not so prepared for that .sandra was to deliver the tribute . i remembered bengbeng's email about john and said that we just read beng's letter .
beng, i took the liberty of having your letter read as tribute to john. no one could have spoken better about john and for john than you with the letter you wrote. john , the family, our classmates heard you and for one last time heard about john. i had to rush out from the church to the nearest computer shop to go to my inbox and have your email message printed for sandra's reading. after sandra read it, she gave it to vangie.
after the burial, were treated by ricardo de guzman to batangas lomi and putobungbong in ilaya.
the samonte family thanked us ,batch 6768 for the support we extended. lily had handed the money to john's family sent by the u.s. based classmates .

I know Beng, Alex and Ramon are hurting more than anyone else from our class because they were extremely close to each other since then till the end.
I know Beng will be happy that his words about John were delivered and shared with everyone who cared for him in his lifetime.
Goodbye John Bosco, we pray that you find the everlasting peace.

Subject: EDGARDO JARIN FERRERAS (AKA: PATRICIO FERRERAS) CALLED HOME
He used Edgardo, his name on his official birth certificate, as his name when he lived in the U.S. and where he spent more than half of his lifetime with the love of his life, his beloved wife Melodia “Mely Resurecion whom she gave him their one and only daughter, Edith Ferreras (married to Aldwin “BoyetDelos Santos), blessed with three children: 14-yr old Patrick, 12-yr old Nicole, and 10-yr old Elijah. These lovely and wonderful grandkids of Patricio and Mely are consistent outstanding students. Elijah, the youngest of the three siblings, has been chosen among thousands of candidates to represent their school in Yuba City to go to Washington D.C. in July 2009 to represent the National Youth as a representative to the United States Congress, and hopefully to personally shake the hands of our new President, Barack Obama.
Erick’s youthful–virtuous body was finally viewed at the Ulrey Memorial Chapel in Yuba City yesterday, 04/27/2009, witnessed by his families and relatives, friends, and people who cared for him. It was a solemn ceremony with a rosary and a mass where music also filled the air. A reception followed in the home of Edith & Boyet where my wife Lea and I spent momentous conversation with Eric’s brother s Fred and Nestor, and his sister Bernie, and his Auntie Estella (Andrea’s mom). Edith and Boyet were very accommodating and extremely nice so did the rest of the families. I met Mely who was confined in the home because of her disabilities; she communicated with me by her eyes movements while laid on the bed… I’d like to believe what I’ve been telling her were understood. She appeared curious, alert, and young at her age. She is beautiful.
Our dearest classmate, Erick or Borik, was my closed friend in High School and I considered him as my best friend. He was gentle and compassionate person with always smiles on his face—no trace of being ever upset, angry, or dissatisfied. He had no enemies. He was so lively, happy, and enjoyed being himself. He was harmless and very enjoyable to be with. He was a big spender, always had money in his pocket, and would like to treat the barkadas in so many delightful ways. He was a great lover with purest of intentions. His house was opened to his friends, where his parents, brothers and sisters treated us like family members too. There were always foods around being served to us while we enjoyed a nice chats, sometimes with alcohol beverages, and plenty of smokes (It was the 60’s!). His laughter was always in our minds I bet. Erick was a simple man with a good heart that made him an unforgettable and a great man for me! Erick will definitely be missed.
In July 1985 when we went to Fountain Valley to attend to my father-in-law’s funeral, Ditas contacted Erick for me, and he and Mely rushed to Ditas’ house in Torrance, where we stayed. He brought with him beers, cognac, other beverages, and pulutan ready for actions. We were so excited to see each other. It could have been a nice event for me to get drunk and collapsed with joy!
I told Erick’s families that I was there also to represent the SIC Class of 1967-68, which everybody extends their deepest sympathy. Regards to all.

Prayers for Rosa Blanca Garcia - Pagalunan of SIC HS Batch 1972 Joined he Lord on April 1, 2009 at the age of 56 years.
With my son, I visited Rosa Blanca Garcia-Pagalunan's Vigil at the St. Peter Memorial along MH del Pilar St. in Tanay, on the way to Manila tonight and her husband Bert, and two (of four) of their children, Prince and Rosal, both Ildefonsians were there, too. One of their children, working in Korea will arrive tomorrow. The date of interment has been set on April 12, 2009 but the exact time has yet to be arranged. With their permission, I have taken this photo.
On behalf of the Officers and Members of the SICAA, I have extended our pledge of Prayers for Rosa Blanca and heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
