Prayers for PATRICIO "Eric" FERRERAS of HS Class 68

"Dear Classmates,

I received the news that our classmate Patricio "Eric" Ferreras passed away last Monday in Sacramento, CA.

According to Imelda Antuerpia-de Jesus (sister of Danilo and Cecilia Antuerpia, our former classmates), the body will be cremated after a scheduled viewing on Monday.

The family needs assistance in locating Eric's brother Nestor and sister Bernie. I know Andrea and Alex are cousins to them so maybe they have a way of finding them and to inform Eric's daughter Baby Esther by calling her at the numbers shown below.

If you have any questions or suggestions, please let me know.

Let's pray for Eric's family and may his soul rest in peace. amen.

Take care and regards.

Betsog

Subject: EDGARDO JARIN FERRERAS (AKA: PATRICIO FERRERAS) CALLED HOME

He used Edgardo, his name on his official birth certificate, as his name when he lived in the U.S. and where he spent more than half of his lifetime with the love of his life, his beloved wife Melodia “Mely Resurecion whom she gave him their one and only daughter, Edith Ferreras (married to Aldwin “BoyetDelos Santos), blessed with three children: 14-yr old Patrick, 12-yr old Nicole, and 10-yr old Elijah. These lovely and wonderful grandkids of Patricio and Mely are consistent outstanding students. Elijah, the youngest of the three siblings, has been chosen among thousands of candidates to represent their school in Yuba City to go to Washington D.C. in July 2009 to represent the National Youth as a representative to the United States Congress, and hopefully to personally shake the hands of our new President, Barack Obama.

Erick’s youthful–virtuous body was finally viewed at the Ulrey Memorial Chapel in Yuba City yesterday, 04/27/2009, witnessed by his families and relatives, friends, and people who cared for him. It was a solemn ceremony with a rosary and a mass where music also filled the air. A reception followed in the home of Edith & Boyet where my wife Lea and I spent momentous conversation with Eric’s brother s Fred and Nestor, and his sister Bernie, and his Auntie Estella (Andrea’s mom). Edith and Boyet were very accommodating and extremely nice so did the rest of the families. I met Mely who was confined in the home because of her disabilities; she communicated with me by her eyes movements while laid on the bed… I’d like to believe what I’ve been telling her were understood. She appeared curious, alert, and young at her age. She is beautiful.

Our dearest classmate, Erick or Borik, was my closed friend in High School and I considered him as my best friend. He was gentle and compassionate person with always smiles on his face—no trace of being ever upset, angry, or dissatisfied. He had no enemies. He was so lively, happy, and enjoyed being himself. He was harmless and very enjoyable to be with. He was a big spender, always had money in his pocket, and would like to treat the barkadas in so many delightful ways. He was a great lover with purest of intentions. His house was opened to his friends, where his parents, brothers and sisters treated us like family members too. There were always foods around being served to us while we enjoyed a nice chats, sometimes with alcohol beverages, and plenty of smokes (It was the 60’s!). His laughter was always in our minds I bet. Erick was a simple man with a good heart that made him an unforgettable and a great man for me! Erick will definitely be missed.

In July 1985 when we went to Fountain Valley to attend to my father-in-law’s funeral, Ditas contacted Erick for me, and he and Mely rushed to Ditas’ house in Torrance, where we stayed. He brought with him beers, cognac, other beverages, and pulutan ready for actions. We were so excited to see each other. It could have been a nice event for me to get drunk and collapsed with joy!

I told Erick’s families that I was there also to represent the SIC Class of 1967-68, which everybody extends their deepest sympathy. Regards to all.

Beng
